Mobile Notary for Hospitals and Nursing Homes in San Antonio

When a family member is in the hospital, a rehabilitation center or a nursing home, getting a document notarized can feel like one more burden. SealTX brings the notary to the bedside, coordinates with the facility and keeps the visit calm, respectful and as short as possible.

We notarize documents the family or their attorney has already prepared. We do not draft, choose or explain the legal effect of any document.

Coordinating with facility staff

Before the visit we confirm visiting hours, room number, any infection-control rules and whether the facility requires us to check in at the front desk. Some facilities have their own policies about staff serving as witnesses; if your document needs witnesses, please arrange them in advance. We will let you know what to expect when you call.

The signer must be willing and aware

Texas law requires that the signer appear personally, be identified, and sign willingly. During the appointment the notary speaks directly with the signer to confirm they know what document they are signing and that they want to sign it. If the signer cannot communicate, appears confused about what they are signing, or someone else is pressuring them, the notary must decline.

A notary cannot determine whether a person has legal capacity for legal purposes. We only confirm willingness and awareness at the moment of signing. Questions about capacity or guardianship belong with a physician and a licensed attorney.

ID requirements for patients

Hospital patients often do not have their wallet with them. The signer still needs acceptable identification — a valid, unexpired government photo ID — or, where Texas law allows, a credible witness who personally knows the signer and has valid ID. Please locate the ID before you schedule; a hospital wristband is not an acceptable ID.

Urgent and same-day visits

We understand that some situations cannot wait. When the calendar allows, we schedule same-day and urgent visits, including evenings and weekends. Urgent and after-hours visits carry the business fees listed on our pricing page; the notarial fee itself never changes and never exceeds the legal maximum.

Frequently asked questions

Can a notary come to a hospital room?

Yes. We meet the signer wherever they are, after confirming the facility's visiting rules.

What if the patient has no ID?

A credible witness may be possible under Texas law. Call us first so we can explain the requirements.

Can the notary decide if my relative is competent?

No. The notary only confirms that the signer is willing and aware at the moment of signing. Legal capacity is a question for a physician and an attorney.

Do you offer urgent visits?

Yes, when available, including evenings and weekends, with the urgent or after-hours business fee shown on our pricing page.
